Hayden ChristensenHayden Christensen is a blond haired, blue eyed actor who was born on April 19, 1981 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. His parents are of Danish, Italian and Swedish heritage. As a child, Hayden Christensen was a successful hockey and tennis player before getting his start in acting. He attended the Canadian Arts York program at Unionville High School and the Actors Studio in New York. When his sister Hejsa was looking for an agent to represent her after she was hired for a commercial, Hayden Christensen was discovered by the same agent. In 1993, Hayden Christensen began acting at the age of 12 in the Canadian series "Family Passions." Later in 1998, as a teen, he got to work with Kristen Dunst and Rachel Leigh Cook in "Strike." It wasn't until 1998 when Hayden starred in the critically acclaimed "The Virgin Suicides," directed by Sofia Coppola, that he really got noticed. That recognition was solidified when he starred in the American television series, "Higher Ground." In 2001, Hayden Christensen worked with Kevin Klein as a troubled teen in "Life as House." His performance was strong enough to earn him a Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor nomination and also a SAG award nominated. In addition, he was awarded the Breakthrough Performance of the Year award by the National Film Board of Reviews. Hayden reached star status when he won the role of Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the clones," featuring Natalie Portman, and as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." In 2002, People Magazine voted Hayden Christensen one of the "50 Most Beautiful." Also in 2002, he was voted one of People Magazine's "25 Hottest Stars Under 25". And in 2005, he was voted one of the "50 Hottest Bachelors", also by People Magazine. |
